DA & Max’s Wild Ride Through Washington, DC!

Posted by: Chester French on: Wednesday, January 21st, 2009

So we’re back from our big DC blow out and we wanted to break down for you guys what we did and share some pictures some other, talented people took.

The first show we did, on Friday, was for the Center For American Progress, which is John Podesta’s think tank. For those of you who don’t know what a think tank is, it’s sort of like a drunk tank, but instead of drinking, you do thinking. And also drinking.

I guess, sort of like this video of a drunk Russian guy driving a tank:

But not at all. You get the idea.

Our buddy buddy Solange Knowles and her new buddy buddy, DC’s own Wale, came out and supported and then we got to hang out with the both of them and drunkenly talk them into appearing in Max’s as of yet untitled Broadway show about the Golden Girls.

Good times!

We had only planned one show in DC. But when DA was in the Milwaukee airport, he was sending off “mad tweets” (as Don Lemon might say) on to his (where he’s a major Twittlebrity) about how he was going to DC. Suddenly, after a flurry of back and forth tweets, DA had set up a second show for us, an acoustic jam, now at the Stussy store (AKA The Greater Good). That’s some twitter ballin for ya.

More than 100 people showed up to the show, with little more than like 10 hours notice. Which is sweet. Unless you’re enochlophobic. Then that’d be bad.

The show was sick and (for those of you wondering) my hat reads “Billionaire Boys Club” of course annnd right after the show let out, the “cipha” began (which we posted about yesterday).

Two sets of dope photographers took pictures at the acoustic show… first up, we present Lady Glock’s fine work:

Lady Glock is our new DC friend, holding it down to the fullest (Say what’s up to Herb, Ice and Bullet).

The we have the Phine Photographic Phun of Real Mango Juice. Check ‘dis:

Thanks everyone for coming and for takin’ photos.

And for those of you stuck at home… you need to get out more, man! We’ve all been really worried about you. You don’t wanna end up like this:

Catch you dudes and dudettes on the flip side…
